Since joining the Sensible Financial team in October of 2023, Olivia Harrison has been working hard in her new position as an Associate Financial Planner.
Her confidence in her role has grown as she learns each stage of the financial planning process. She has been observing and participating in planning and analysis as the various teams work together to create financial plans for clients. Sensible pairs newer Associate Financial Planners and Associate Financial Advisors with experienced advisors. This enables the new team members to gain experience and knowledge from the more seasoned advisors.
“My manager at the firm is Laura Williams. She is always there to help me or answer my questions. But everyone here is helpful, and I’m learning so much every day,” said Olivia.
Right now, she is studying the technology and tools Sensible uses and spends a great deal of time analyzing data. She’s fascinated by the background workings of programs and wants to continue to build on her knowledge of financial planning software.
Contributing to the Sensible team
In addition to her work in planning and analysis, Olivia enjoys exploring ways to contribute to the firm. For example, she has been learning and helping Frank Napolitano with graphic design updates. However, meeting and helping clients remain her favorite parts of the job.
As Olivia dives into her position, she continues to set goals for herself. Currently, she is studying the many rules, laws, and requirements for Series 65 licensing. The Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam tests an individual’s knowledge of finance, investing, economics, regulations, and the ethics and fiduciary obligations inherent in offering financial advice to clients.
She plans to sit for the Series 65 exam before summer begins and looks forward to earning the title of associate financial advisor when she passes. Then, she’ll begin classes to earn her CFP® certification.
Becoming a Bostonian
Olivia has settled into her new home and community with joy. She’s not a fan of the traffic but loves walking the city. She spends her free time exploring Greater Boston with friends, both new and old. They love exploring different Boston neighborhoods and the surrounding cities, trying new restaurants, and shopping.
