After spending several years in the volatile mortgage loan industry, Liz Killion is joining the Sensible Financial team as an operations associate. After attaining a bachelor’s degree in corporate studies from Boston College, Liz cultivated skills in customer service and sales support before landing in mortgage operations. She worked internally, guiding clients, and helping first-time buyers secure loans.
“That was my favorite part of the job,” says Liz. “It was exciting helping families realize their dreams of home ownership. It was a rewarding experience.”
Right now, Liz is getting up to speed on the inner workings of Sensible. “It’s exciting,” she says. “I’ve been learning a lot from Chuck Luce and the whole operations team.”
After her experience in the mortgage loan industry, Liz wanted to work in a steadier environment. Since she’s always been interested in technology, and was looking for a more collegial atmosphere, operations at Sensible seemed like a great fit.
Side note: If you look up stable in a thesaurus, the word sensible pops up.
Liz has another passion. For years she’s been on the board of directors of SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council). The non-profit organization helps people remain self-sufficient by providing short-term housing, fuel assistance, mental health services, addiction counseling, and community outreach.
Liz is all about stability these days. As the daughter of a military family, Liz moved a lot growing up. Now, she wants to stay in one place. She lives in the suburbs of Boston with her husband and toddler. Liz’s parents and brother live nearby, too. Liz loves to read and is trying to read 15 fun books this year. That could be tough since she and her husband spend most of their off time watching Sesame Street and chasing their little one around.
