Operations Associate
Sonja Murphy started work with Sensible Financial in early 2021 as an Operations Associate. Excited to work at a small firm where she’d get to perform a variety of tasks, Sonja was happy to find Sensible. She came to Sensible with a strong academic background and a desire to return to financial services. She had been working from home for a few years taking care of her family and volunteering for her local historical society and youth hockey association.
After attending career development workshops as part of the reacHIRE program, Sonja worked as a Business Analyst for Constant Contact. There, she worked with IT, improving operations in their CRM (customer relation management) department.
Prior to that, she taught Finance at Merrimack College for five years after serving as Project Manager, Investment Operations for MetLife.
Sonja earned a Bachelor’s in Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she led the varsity lacrosse and field hockey teams as captain. After graduating, she went on to receive her Master’s in Business Administration from Boston University.
Sonja lives near Boston with her husband, a fintech entrepreneur, and their two children. When she’s not working in the operations group at Sensible, you’ll find Sonja and her family skiing, golfing, playing tennis, or cheering for an assortment of area hockey teams.
