Sensible is growing again! We have two new employees joining the team. Lisa Harris is an Operations Associate and Kelly Robertie is an Associate Financial Planner. We spoke to them both recently to learn more about them.
Lisa Harris: Operations Associate
Lisa attended the Community College of Rhode Island. She has worked at Citizens Bank, Zipcar, and the Lincoln Financial Group, working in benefits, insurance, mutual funds, and transaction processing. Later, she went on to work at K Force, helping entrepreneurs secure loans from the Small Business Administration. Lisa’s operational experience and her positive outlook fit well with Sensible’s operations department.
Lisa is family-oriented and appreciated the hiring process at Sensible. “I spoke with almost everyone at Sensible! It was great meeting them and learning about the company. It’s clear people are happy here.” One of the things Lisa liked were the opportunities Sensible presents its staff. “They promote from within, which I like. Also, they’re always learning and teaching.”
Lisa loves to cook for family and friends, exercise, and go out to plays and concerts, but traveling is her favorite pastime. She recently visited Puerto Rico and hopes to go to Hawaii and Italy someday.
Kelly Robertie: Associate Financial Planner
Kelly graduated from Gordon College with a Bachelor’s in English language and literature. She began her professional career at financial services companies like John Hancock and Fidelity Investments. She specialized in both internal and external communications surrounding long-term care, retirement plans, and 401(k) programs. After more than ten years at financial firms, Kelly decided to go back to school for her Master’s in special education. After graduating from Regis College, she taught elementary school kids with and without learning differences for eight years. While she loved working with children, Kelly realized she wanted to re-enter the world of finance.
Kelly researched and found Sensible’s size and commitment to its clients appealing. “I like the fact that Sensible is a fiduciary. I’m happy that I’ll be presenting plans to my clients designed specifically for their situations and in their best interest.” Though she’s no longer teaching, she considers working with Sensible to be a helping profession. Kelly felt that especially when she spoke to Rick Miller and Laura Williams. “It’s clear that they’re dedicated to their clients. Sensible’s philosophy aligns with my personal values. I’m looking forward to helping clients make the most of their assets and their lives.”
When she’s not working, Kelly loves to play outdoors with her dog, Frankie, bake, and spend as much time as possible near the water.
