Jay earned his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of California-Davis, his B.S. in Economics from the University of Washington, and is currently enrolled in Boston University’s Certificate in Financial Planning program. Prior to joining Sensible Financial® he taught undergraduate courses in microeconomics at UC Davis and worked as an Associate Economic Consultant at The Brattle Group, where he conducted research and managed projects in support of expert witnesses in matters of high stakes litigation. Jay brings an analytical economics-based approach to the practice of financial planning and has a passion for learning and teaching that he loves sharing with clients. He is particularly excited about helping others reach their goals, by providing objective, economically sound, fee-only financial advice at a fair price.
Jay loves spending time with his wife and daughter and is an avid cyclist. He enjoys hiking, reading, woodworking, and a good cup of coffee.
