We manage your assets according to your Investment Policy Statement, a formal document that records your choice of target return and risk, and identifies other factors we should take into account as we select investments for you. If we have done an integrated financial plan for you, the Investment Policy Statement is a direct result of that work. If we haven’t, we usually have an asset allocation consultation to review your investment objectives and issues, and to help you select a target portfolio.

The Investment Policy Statement also specifies whether you wish us to take discretion for the management of your assets. Many of our clients authorize every transaction that we undertake on their behalf. Others prefer the convenience of granting us discretion, authorizing the transactions we recommend in advance.

You will receive a report and rebalancing recommendations from us at the frequency you select (quarterly, semi-annually, or annually). You will also receive regular statements from your custodian(s).

We are happy to respond to investment questions from you, and to explain our reports and investment recommendations in depth. This is a natural part of our investment management service.

Substantive discussions of significant new issues that affect your financial plan or investment posture call for a targeted consultation. We recommend scheduling a special meeting to focus on this type of question.
